By booking or using our services, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Scope of services

Chisto Cleaning Services provides general house cleaning services.

We do not clean:

  • biohazardous materials;
  • human or pet waste;
  • hoarded homes;
  • pest infestations or pest remains;
  • mold or smoke damage beyond the normal cleaning scope.

We are happy to work hard, but we do have limits for health, safety, and insurance reasons.

2. Safety of team members

  • All team members are covered by WCB, bonded, and insured.
  • For safety, our cleaners do not lift items heavier than 35 lbs.
  • If cleaning is needed behind large furniture or appliances, please move them before your appointment.

3. Criminal record checks

All cleaning staff must provide a valid criminal record check before completing training. We do not hire anyone with a record that may put our clients at risk (e.g., theft, assault).

4. Cancellation policy

We require 3 full business days' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

  • Less than 3 business days’ notice: 50% of the service fee charged.
  • Same-day cancellation: 100% of service fee charged (exceptions at management’s discretion).

This policy ensures stable income for our team members, who are paid even in case of late cancellations.

5. Home conditions policy

Before starting work, our crew will do a walk-through and note any pre-existing damage or wear and tear.
We are not responsible for:

  • loose or improperly secured fixtures (shelves, racks, shower doors, etc.);
  • existing dents, chips, cracks, scratches, or stains;
  • damage caused by unstable items or poor installation.

If you have valuables, heirlooms, or sensitive items you do not want touched, please notify us in advance.

6. Accidental damage

If accidental damage occurs during service, the cleaner will notify the office immediately. If appropriate, management will contact you to arrange repair or replacement.

7. Stain removal policy (carpet & mattress cleaning)

We will make every effort to remove stains; however, results are not guaranteed. Factors affecting success include:

  • type and age of stain;
  • previous cleaning attempts;
  • material type.

8. Pricing

All pricing is based on information provided at booking and our initial assessment. Estimates are approximate and may change depending on home size, condition, and any additional cleaning requested.

We will always confirm any price adjustments with you before proceeding.

9. Complaints

Please report any issues (missed areas, damage, etc.) within 48 hours of service. This allows us to investigate and resolve matters promptly. Reports made after 48 hours may not be eligible for review or compensation.

10. Liability

While we take all reasonable precautions, Chisto Cleaning Services is not liable for:

  • pre-existing damage;
  • items not properly secured or installed;
  • normal wear and tear.

Our maximum liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid for the service in question.

11. Privacy

We respect your privacy. Personal information is collected only for booking, billing, and service delivery purposes, and is never sold or shared except as required by law. Data is stored securely and retained only as long as necessary.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Alberta, Canada.

13. Contact us

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on our website. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
